15'1 ISH FOR FULL LOAN

Teddy is a 15’1 or 2 chestnut Irish Sports Horse (part Arab) gelding looking for a long-term loan home, with other horses, where he will be loved and cherished. He is not a novice ride, but a lot of fun for a competent rider. He loves to work and is not ready for his retirement home yet. He thrives on regular exercise and attention. He schools well but has not been schooled for many years. Although 21 years old he still thinks he is a 10 year old and has plenty of energy. We have always ridden him in a happy mouth snaffle. Would ideally suit a good mother/ daughter combination. He is friendly, kind, good to handle and shoe etc. He will box and travel with other ponies. He hacks out alone but cannot be left alone when everyone else goes out! For the last 18 months he has mostly lived out, but he does prefer to be able to come in if cold and wet. He was my daughter’s, very much loved, second pony (when she was about 14) and a stalwart of pony club. In his youth he was a BSJA pony but has had a tendon injury and has stiff hocks so can no longer jump regularly. My daughter’s health problems mean she has not been able to ride for many years and for the last 18 months Teddy and his companion have been on loan. He has been ridden regularly as a companion hacker with his companion. Sadly, the companion pony will have to be put down in the next few weeks due to a tumour. Teddy has been with his companion for about 6 years and is a very sociable pony who needs company so urgently needs to find a new home with other horses. We are looking for someone who is able to take on our beloved boy at a very difficult time for everyone. We would love it if he could stay local to Chester where we are based but the most important thing is for him to have the right home.
